In an effort to support survivors of sexual violence and the broader community, the Women’s Sexual Assault Centre is proud to announce a transformative workshop titled “When Grief is Complicated: Resilience in Tough Times.” Set to take place on November 2nd, 2023, from 9:30 AM to 4:30 PM at the Petawawa Civic Centre, this day-long event promises to provide valuable insights and tools for coping with grief and traumatic loss.
Renowned experts Yvette Perreault and Cathy Walker from Good Grief Care Consultants will be the facilitators for this empowering workshop. They will delve into the various dimensions of grief and its presence in our lives and the lives of our loved ones. The workshop will explore how grief can manifest in both tangible and intangible forms, ranging from the loss of loved ones and traumatic experiences to expected and unexpected life changes, as well as the uncertainties of our current socio-political climate. Additionally, participants will reflect on their personal experiences during the recent Covid pandemic.
The cost to attend this enlightening event is $50.00, which includes a provided lunch. For survivors of sexual violence, there is a limited number of free spaces available to ensure accessibility and support.
