Petawawa and Pembroke residents, Exercise CHARGING DRAGOON, led by personnel from the Royal Canadian Dragoons, is scheduled to unfold next week between September 24 and 29. During this timeframe, the local population should anticipate encountering uniformed soldiers and military vehicles at nearby truck stops and along the area’s roads.
This vital exercise is designed to bolster the capabilities of 2 Canadian Mechanized Brigade Group when it comes to effectively navigating urban environments. Soldiers will employ an array of equipment, including Light Armoured Vehicles, Tactical Armoured Patrol Vehicles, and various small arms, both mounted and dismounted, throughout day and night operations.
Importantly, there will be no use of blank ammunition or pyrotechnics, and the utmost effort will be made to minimize any disruption to the local communities. They express their sincere gratitude for the community’s support and understanding during this crucial training exercise.
