The Renfrew County District School Board has responded to police reports involving staff and students at three Arnprior schools Tuesday.
Oldies 107.7/myFM received a number of listener accounts regarding the incidents, which began at A.J. Charbonneau before the Noon Hour September 26th, as OPP engaged in a significant search of the Baskin Drive property.
Officers indicate neither a weapon nor suspicious activity were discovered during the police investigation.
Renfrew Detachment officers extended their perimetre to involve a “hold and secure” at both Walter Zadow Public and ADHS on Ottawa Street, but these two facilities were not placed in lockdown.
Police assert the situation was precautionary.
By 1PM the matter had been resolved with no gun discovered.
As staff at the three facilities worked with police on the premises, their colleagues manning the RCDSB office saw to it that all parents of students in the involved institutions were contacted via the School Messenger app, receiving both email and phone updates as the issue was diffused.
