Quinton and Oliver Norwood, recent arrivals from Nova Scotia, have become community heroes in their new home, the Town of Petawawa. Inspired by their involvement in the Scotian Shores cleanup project, where they turned beach litter into useful items, they continued their mission here since they moved in over the summer.
They’ve tirelessly cleaned up the Petawawa River and other areas, even retrieving a discarded couch from the river. Mayor Gary Serviss, along with council, honored their dedication at the Tuesday night meeting with certificates. Mayor Serviss shared the discovery that he had a personal connection to their family through his teaching career.
The community thanked Quinton, Oliver, and their supportive family, many of whom were in attendance. Mayor Serviss hopes the boys enjoyed their tour of the fire hall where they received tokens of appreciation. Here’s hoping their efforts will inspire other youngsters to join the cause and become inspiring figures in Petawawa.
