The Town of Petwawa recently took time to recognize Child Care Worker and Early Childhood Educator Appreciation Day. A pair of child care leaders visited town council chambers, where they were greeted by Mayor Gary Serviss. Kathy Pardy, Registered Early Child Educator was presented with a certificate after opening Kinder Connection Nursery School in March of 1994, and as since continued for 30 years. Nancy Caverley, also a RECE, was hired in August of 1984 to work as a nursery school teacher at the then called, CFB Petawawa Nursery School which became Kiddie Kollege. In the fall of 1986 she became the Supervisor of Kiddie Kollege and remained at Kiddie Kollege for 25 years.
