The province is set to conduct a comprehensive test of its Alert Ready system tomorrow (November 15th).
Residents across Ontario should be prepared, cell phones will receive a test alert at 12:55 p.m.
It’s crucial for residents to note that no action will be required when receiving this test alert. The message is part of a routine check to guarantee that the Alert Ready system is fully operational.
However, an additional caution has been issued by the OPP, addressing individuals experiencing domestic or intimate partner violence. During the Alert Ready test, phones used for emergency calls, which may be hidden for safety reasons, could potentially go off. To mitigate this risk, it is strongly advised to turn off or remove these phones from the home during the test period.
