Pembroke’s Deputy Mayor has a vision for the future of recreation

Pembroke’s Deputy Mayor is sharing his vision for the future of recreation in the city. Brian Abdallah recently presented a motion to council for the city to issue an expression of interest for firms interested in a public private partnership to build a multi-sports complex. The Deputy Mayor tells myFM news how he came up with the idea.

Abdallah says it makes more sense to put everything under one roof. Possibly even including a public library. The Deputy Mayor tells myFM news about a P3 option.

Brian goes on to say that Pembroke’s situation with sports facilities is nothing unique, but we have to start looking to the future.

Staff are expected to return with a report in the next eight weeks. Brian says nothing is set in stone, but it at least starts the conversation.
