Pembroke’s own country music star Jason Blaine came from home for the holidays in a big way. In front of a sold-out crowd at the Germania Hall this past weekend, Blaine handed out more than $100,000 in charitable gifts to local organizations, thanks to funds raised from this year’s Jason Blaine Annual Celebrity Charity Golf Classic & Concert. Next year marks the event’s 10th anniversary and Blaine says he is well aware of how close they are to a major milestone in giving – the $1 million mark. “We know the milestone is there and it’s close,” he says. “We talk about it at every meeting. Everyone is committed to making it happen and they’re coming up with new ideas and ways to reach people to help us do it.”
