Warden Peter Emon presides over the County of Renfrew's Inaugural Meeting on Tuesday, December 12th.
After 35 years in municipal politics, Renfrew County’s Warden is not ready to slow down.
County Council swore Peter Emon in for his second straight year as Warden at their Inaugural Meeting on Tuesday, December 12th after he ran unopposed for the position last month.
Emon believes his experience and willingness to consult with others made him an attractive enough option to the rest of the County’s representatives.
He also notes that most people on the council know that he has long-term goals that he’d like to see through as the County’s role continues to evolve with initiatives like the Virtual Triage and Assessment Centre.
He says some major responsibilities going forward is the continuing expansion of Renfrew County VTAC and community paramedicine, as well as new interactive tools to give residents a better look at progress on County construction and infrastructure projects.
Even with the constantly changing landscape that comes with leading Renfrew County into the future, it’s safe to say that Emon loves his job.
Emon has been juggling his county responsibilities while also serving as Reeve for the town of Renfrew, something he says both parties have been very accommodating with as he balances both schedules.
