A house fire on Saturday afternoon on Cecil Street in Pembroke has left a few homeless just before the holidays. The Pembroke Fire Department were called just after the noon hour. Once on the scene, smoke and flames were visible from the second storey of a duplex. The blaze was quickly brought under control and contained to the single unit, however the neighboring unit suffered smoke damage. No injuries were reported, however a family of 2 have been displaced from the fire unit and a family of 5 have been removed from the neighboring unit as a precaution. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
