The Ottawa Valley Waste Management Board has officially appointed Laurie Benjamin as the new General Manager of the Ottawa Valley Waste Recovery Centre.
Having been a part of the Centre’s team since November 2001, Laurie Benjamin has contributed to various capacities, ranging from Equipment Operator to Administrative Assistant, Acting Senior Financial Officer, and most recently, Diversion and Environmental Compliance Supervisor.
Expressing enthusiasm about the prospects of 2024, Benjamin shared with myFM, “We are excited to see what 2024 has to bring, as we know it will be a busy year.” Additionally, Benjamin expressed eagerness in assuming the position, stating, “I was eager to get this position as it came up, and I look forward to maintaining the duties here at the Centre.”
Laurie Benjamin takes over the role from Sue McCrae, who had been an integral part of the Centre since 2005. The Board and Centre staff wish Sue the best of luck in her retirement and the Waste Management Board and Centre staff look forward to working with Laurie in her new role.
