A partnership has been formed to shape health care for Indigenous People across the region.
The Algonquins of Pikwakanagan First Nation are partnering with the Ottawa Valley Ontario Health Team to craft a health care system “that truly understands, respects, and includes indigenous perspectives.”
As part of the project, a series of information sessions are being put together as a platform for all First Nations, Metis, and Inuit residents in the region to share their healthcare experiences, needs, and cultural insights.
Mark your calendars for the first series of Indigenous Engagement Sessions:
- January 31, 2024, at Renfrew Legion, Renfrew
- February 7, 2024, at Best Western, Pembroke
- February 21, 2024, at Petawawa Civic Centre, Petawawa
- February 28, 2024, at Deep River Recreation Centre, Deep River
Each session will run from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. in a setting that respects and honours our culture, with a comfortable space and light refreshments provided.
