The Pembroke Lumber Kings were running on empty Tuesday night in Navan where they lost two games to the Grads. The two clubs played the final period of their previously suspended game as the Grads finished off the Kings 7-1, and then in the regularly scheduled game, Navan thumped Pembroke 6-1. The losses stalled the Kings playoff push as they remain one point back of the Kemptville 73’s for the final post-season spot in the Central Canada Hockey League.
The Kings will have to lick their wounds and prepare for a critical road game on Wednesday, March 13th against the non playoff bound Ottawa Junior Senators. A win would secure a playoff spot for the Kings. On Friday, March 15th the Kings play in Smiths Falls and then on Sunday, March 17th the Kings close their regular season at home with an afternoon game at 2 p.m. against the Junior Senators.
Kemptville has completed its regular season. The 73’s have 54 points. The Kings have 53 points with three games remaining in their season.
