Residents in Petawawa, Pembroke, and Laurentian Valley can expect their 2024/2025 collection schedules to arrive in mailboxes during the week of March 18. This annual calendar, distributed by the Ottawa Valley Waste Recovery Centre, outlines crucial details for waste, recycling, and green cart collection, along with special collections like leaf and yard waste and large item pickups.
Starting April 1, the schedules, maintaining a consistent design, contain a sorting guide providing vital information on recycling, compost, and garbage disposal. Chris Mantha, Director of Public Works for the Town of Petawawa, emphasizes the guide’s importance, stating, “It contains everything you need to know so you are setting out material correctly.”
The collection schedules offer features such as a 12-month calendar with symbols for easy reference, a map for determining collection days, and a detachable list outlining accepted items in each bin. Details on proper set-out requirements, special pick-ups, and information on electronic and hazardous waste are also included.
Residents can expect delivery by March 28, or alternatively, download copies from www.ovwrc.com to stay informed and contribute to effective waste management.
