GALLAGHER, Thomas Hugh “Tom” – October 29th,1955 – March 14th, 2024www.nevillefuneralhome.ca
Tom was a devoted husband and father. He had a passion for hunting and fishing and was eager to start his boys at a young age, just like he did at the age of 4 years old. He loved his family and was always so proud of them. His grandchildren were the light of his life. Teaching them how to do things the old fashion way. Their poppa was so proud of them. Tom was always ready to give advice on how to fix this and that. He was always handy with wood. He loved to go to the bush to find those special pieces and bring them back to the cottage, then contemplate for a few days what to do and make from them. He had visions of wood that no one else could see. This brought great joy to him to see the finished piece. Tom leaves behind the love of his life Patricia Gallagher (nee Johnston) of 45 years and his children Shawn and Hugh (Crystal) Gallagher. Caring grandfather of Hunter, Hailey, Makayla, and Gage. Dear brother of Steven (Cindy) Gallagher. Sadly missed by his four legged girl Sadie and many nieces and nephews. Cherished brother-in-law of Joanne (Jerry) Laroche, Judy Johnston Briscoe and Susan (Wade) MacIntosh. Predeceased by parents Faye Miller (nee Vosbourgh) and Thomas Gallagher Sr., by sisters Kathy (Wilbert) Denault, Diane (Vital) Herrault and by brother David Gallagher. A special thank you to all the doctors and nurses who cared for Tom; and to the staff of Bayshore for their compassion and care. Respecting Tom’s wishes, cremation has taken place. The family will receive relatives and friends at the Neville Funeral Home, 491 Isabella Street, Pembroke on Friday, March 22nd, 2024 1-3 p.m., followed by a service in the Chapel. Interment of Ashes will take place at a later date. As an expression of sympathy, donations to Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario or Pembroke Regional Hospital Cancer Care Unit would be appreciated.
