On March 22, 2024, the Killaloe Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) swiftly responded to an assault call for service at a residence located in the Township of Madawaska Valley. Following an intensive investigation, law enforcement officers arrested and charged a 37-year-old individual from Madawaska Valley with the serious Criminal Code offence of domestic assault.
The accused, whose identity remains undisclosed to safeguard the privacy and security of the victim, has been released on specific conditions pending a court appearance at a later date.
