Two people have been charged following a serious assault in Renfrew that left two men with stab wounds.
Around 11 p.m. on April 24, officers from the Renfrew Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police responded to a disturbance and located the two men with stab wounds on Airth Boulevard.
Police say both were transported to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
According to an OPP press release, two people were arrested without incident on Thursday, April 25.
Wayne Flegel, 60, of Renfrew, has been charged with two counts of attempt to commit murder. He remains in custody and is scheduled to appear in Pembroke court on April 29.
Christopher McCanna-Wright, 34, of Renfrew, has been charged with two counts of assault with a weapon. He remains in custody and is scheduled to appear in Pembroke court on April 26.
The charges have not been proven in court.
There was an increased police presence Thursday in Renfrew on Munroe Avenue West and East in relation to the case.
