Stone Fence Theatre needs your help! As they get ready for an exciting season with many shows coming up, they need help with a few things. They are looking for photos of one-room schools to put up on their Facebook page and website, also to display them at the hall in Rankin. They are also looking for props for their performances like a schoolteacher’s bell, a very small box stove, some school desks, an old map of Dominion Canada, old textbooks, an old globe and anything else that would help to set the tone.
In the meantime, their cast including nearly a dozen children and youth are rehearsing to make sure they present their best performance. Miss Pringle’s Mini-Skirt, by Johanna Zomers, opens on July 24 at the Rankin Culture and Recreation Centre for 12 shows.
The theater will also award bursaries to graduating students active in performing arts from eight Renfrew County high schools. Bursary winners will be announced as selected by the schools.
