Our local McDonald’s locations are still beaming with pride over a personal best for McHappy Day fundraising.
Francesca Rakinic, Operations Supervisor for our Ottawa Valley McDonald’s locations, is sending out a big thank you to the customers, staff, and community figures who braved some heavy showers at times to help make local history on May 8th.
She says it just goes to show how important supporting the cause is for people in the Valley.
In fact, Rakinic believes that it wasn’t just the $22,000 that the community came together to raise for Ronald McDonald House Charities that made McHappy Day special.
Even so, it’s obvious that this year’s turnout has raised the bar for next year by quite a bit.
Rakinic says the money will go to the Ronald McDonald House at CHEO, where shovels are in the ground for a three-story addition to house even more families of sick kids as they receive treatment.
While McDonald’s helps a number of local charities year-round, Rakinic says RHMC is the biggest and closest to their hearts for the impact it has.
