The Friends of the Regional Pool, in partnership with the Pembroke Petawawa District Community Foundation, kicked off a campaign today to raise $200,000 for the Kinsmen Pool’s repair and enhancement. This effort includes over 35 committee members from Pembroke, Laurentian Valley, Whitewater Township, North Algona Wilberforce, Bonnechere Valley, and the Pontiac region.
The City of Pembroke and Laurentian Valley Township have already pledged funds, and the additional money raised will go towards essential upgrades.
“Having access to a local swimming pool is vital for our community,” said foundation chair Matt Bradley.
Fundraising efforts include selling t-shirts and lawn signs at makeasplash.ca. For more information and volunteer opportunities, visit the website or contact friendsoftheregionalpool@gmail.com.
