The City of Pembroke has successfully concluded its Spring Bulky Item Collection. Miller Waste has completed multiple sweeps to ensure thorough collection throughout the city. Residents are now required to remove any remaining materials from the curbside immediately, as they will no longer be collected. Failure to do so may result in fines under the Municipal Waste Collection By-Law.
Landlords are reminded of their responsibility to ensure compliance with waste disposal regulations for their properties and tenants.
Items that must be removed from the curbside include:
- Construction and renovation materials (bathtubs, toilets, cupboards, sinks)
- Drywall, concrete, and flooring
- Vinyl siding, shingles, windows, and doors
- Wood (lumber, plywood, pallets)
- Propane tanks, flowerpots, and trays
- Hazardous waste and glass tabletops
- Tires, clothing, textiles, and cardboard boxes
- Small items (under 9″x14″x22″) or those that fit into a standard garbage bag or can
Remaining items can be disposed of at the Ottawa Valley Waste Recovery Centre at 900 Woito Station Road, where tipping fees may apply. For more information and a list of FAQs, visit the City of Pembroke’s website.
