On June 21, 2024, a collision on Highway 41 near Magnetic Hill Road in Bonnechere Valley left three people injured. The crash, which occurred just before 8:00 p.m., involved a passenger car, an SUV, and a pickup truck.
According to the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Killaloe Detachment, a 38-year-old driver from Kingston was traveling southbound when he crossed the center line, hitting a northbound SUV driven by a 28-year-old from Stouffville. A 55-year-old pickup truck driver from Ottawa, following the SUV, swerved to avoid the collision and struck a guardrail.
The driver of the passenger car, who sustained life-threatening injuries, was trapped and had to be extricated by the Bonnechere Valley Fire Department before being airlifted to the hospital. The other two drivers suffered minor injuries and were transported to the hospital by Renfrew County Paramedics.
The highway was closed for several hours as OPP technical Collision Investigators (TCI) conducted their investigation. The collision remains under investigation, and the OPP is seeking information from the public.
