The strike by OPSEU workers has shut the doors at more than 600 LCBO retail outlets across the province but alcohol is still available for sale in several locations and online.
An LCBO strike does not impact the approximately 2,300 private retail points of sale across the province, including through LCBO Convenience Outlets, licensed grocery stores, The Beer Store, and winery, brewery, cidery, and distillery outlets, as well as at bars and restaurants.
Locally, agency stores can be found in the following locations:
- White Lake General Store, 6 Burnstown Road
- Nicholson’s Sundries, Pakenham, 2529 County Road 29
- Jai Mata Di, Kinburn, 3084 Kinburn Side Road
- Al’s Corner Store in Galetta, 4812 ON-17
- The Harbour Store, Fitzroy Harbour, 2391 Fitzroy Street
- Constance Bay General Store, 115 Constance Bay Rd.
- Highway 7 Convenience Centre, 13659 Highway 7, Carleton Place
- Kenny’s Store, Westmeath, 2164 Westmeath Rd.
- Annie’s Gas Bar and Variety, Foresters Falls, 2008 Foresters Falls Road
- Round Lake Centre, 2664 Round Lake Rd.
- Golden Lake, Golden Lake Variety, 11199 Highway 60
- Cloyne General Store, 14265 Highway 41
- Clayton General Store, 2862 Tatlock Road
- Alice General Store, 10679, Round Lake Road, Pembroke
- Kauffeldt’s Grocery, Quadeville, 3469 Quadeville Rd.
With our close proximity to the province of Quebec, travelling there, including to Thompson’s Corner Store in Portage-du-Fort, for alcohol purchases is also an option.
The LCBO says after 14 days 32 stores will re-open across Ontario with service from Friday through Sunday only. Officials say online orders are also being accepted, though limits have been put in place.
