On July 26, 2024, at approximately 4:30 p.m., the Killaloe Detachment responded to a traffic complaint on Highway 60 in the Township of Killaloe Hagarty and Richards.
The investigation led to the arrest of 68-year-old Carey Derochier of Ottawa. Derochier has been charged with impaired operation and operating a vehicle with a blood alcohol concentration over 80 mg.
Following the arrest, Derochier was released and is scheduled to appear in court on August 21, 2024, at the Ontario Court of Justice in Pembroke. His driver’s license has been suspended for 90 days, and his vehicle was towed and impounded.
