The Upper Ottawa Valley Detachment has laid charges following a series of stolen vehicle incidents in Laurentian Hills.
On August 4, 2024, at around 7:45 a.m., officers responded to a single-vehicle collision on Forestry Road. The incident involved a pickup truck that had veered off the road, crashed, and caught fire. The driver had fled the scene, and it was later determined that the vehicle had been stolen the previous night from a residence in Laurentian Hills.
Later that day, at approximately 4:30 p.m., police were called to another residence in Laurentian Hills for an attempted theft of a pickup truck. The theft was interrupted by the vehicle’s owner, prompting the suspect to flee the scene on an ATV, which was later found to have been stolen from the same area. The ATV was eventually recovered by police.
On August 6, 2024, police arrested and charged 44-year-old Terrence Nicholson of Laurentian Hills. Nicholson faces charges of possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, as well as two counts of possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000.
Nicholson is scheduled to appear in court as the investigation continues.
