The Town of Petawawa has introduced a new Commemorative Boardwalk Program, offering families, businesses, and organizations a unique opportunity to honor their loved ones or commemorate special events. Participants can purchase a plaque to be affixed to the deck boards of the boardwalk surrounding the Comfort Station.
The Comfort Station, built to celebrate Petawawa’s 25th anniversary, serves as a modern rest stop along the Algonquin Trail, blending contemporary design with traditional railway station aesthetics. The boardwalk, reminiscent of the historic rail stations that once served the region, provides an ideal canvas for personal tributes.
To participate, interested parties should review the program guidelines and complete the Request Form available online at the Town of Petawawa’s website. The cost for a board with a plaque is $200 plus HST. Space is limited, so early participation is encouraged.
The Town of Petawawa is also planning a grand opening for the Comfort Station in August 2024. Stay with us for the details regarding the grand opening ceremony.
