The Upper Ottawa Valley Detachment is investigating a severe three-vehicle collision that occurred on Mary Street on the afternoon of September 30, 2024.
At approximately 3:15 p.m., an SUV heading west crossed the center line and struck two motorcycles traveling east. After the impact, the SUV continued and collided with a nearby residence. The 78-year-old driver of the SUV was taken to the hospital as a precaution.
A 37-year-old male motorcyclist sustained serious injuries and was airlifted to a regional trauma center after being treated by paramedics. His 37-year-old female passenger also sustained serious injuries and was transported to the hospital. Fortunately, the 32-year-old male driver of the second motorcycle was unharmed.
Mary Street was closed for about seven hours between MacKay Street and Church Street as OPP Technical Collision Investigation (TCI) officers conducted their investigation. The incident is still under review.
