The Upper Ottawa Valley (UOV) Detachment will join a nationwide traffic safety initiative, Operation Impact, this Thanksgiving long weekend. Running for four days, this campaign is spearheaded by the Canadian Association of Chiefs of Police (CACP) and aims to curb dangerous driving behaviors.
Operation Impact targets aggressive driving, distracted driving, impaired driving (alcohol or drugs), and seatbelt violations. Throughout the Thanksgiving weekend, UOV OPP officers will be highly visible in the area, actively supporting the campaign’s mission to enhance road safety.
Drivers are encouraged to avoid distractions, buckle up, adhere to speed limits, and drive sober. By doing so, motorists can help ensure a safer holiday weekend for everyone sharing the roads.
