Fall is not only cold and flu season but also a good time to keep up to date on preventing a different illness.
The Renfrew County District Health Unit says the latest round of shots for COVID-19 are available for people aged 65 and up, as well as those living in long-term care, pregnant, or have underlying medical conditions, among others.
Appointments can be booked at the health unit’s community clinics, as well as through your primary care provider or at certain pharmacies.
Residents interested in getting their booster shot will still need to wait at least six months from their last shot or test-confirmed COVID-19 infection, and the RCHDU adds that people who are not at high risk of infection will have to wait until October 28th.
Renfrew County residents are encouraged to find more information on the COVID-19 vaccine on the RCDHU website and book an appointment through the Province of Ontario.
