From October 22 to 27, the Killaloe Airport will host the Patrol Pathfinder course, a critical training program for Canadian soldiers. Residents may notice military personnel conducting exercises with weapons; however, it’s important to note that no live rounds will be issued during this training.
On October 22, soldiers will arrive by van to practice sighting airstrips behind enemy lines, enhancing their tactical skills. The training may also include the presence of CH-146 Griffon helicopters in the area, contributing to the realism of the exercises.
All participating soldiers will receive a thorough briefing before the training, and course staff will monitor activities to ensure safety on civilian grounds. Utilizing non-Department of National Defence land outside the Range Training Area adds a valuable level of realism and complexity, better-preparing soldiers to serve Canada and its interests both at home and abroad.
Residents are encouraged to be aware of this military activity and to reach out to local authorities if they have any questions or concerns.
