The Upper Ottawa Valley (UOV) Detachment is on the case after a customer tried to play the ultimate dinner escape on October 25, at a downtown Pembroke restaurant.
After receiving a tip-off about a customer attempting to leave without paying, officers arrived just in time to catch 29-year-old Justin Hunt. He now faces one count of food and lodging fraud under the Criminal Code.
Hunt was released and is set to face the music in court on November 26. It turns out you can’t just walk out on the bill—unless you want a side of police involvement! This incident serves as a reminder that dining out comes with a bill, not just a meal!
