The Upper Ottawa Valley (UOV) Detachment is investigating a break, enter, and theft that occurred at a jewellery store on Pembroke Street East in Pembroke. The incident took place on November 13, at approximately 1:00 a.m., when police responded to an alarm at the store. Upon arrival, officers discovered evidence of forced entry and theft. The OPP Emergency Response Team (ERT) and Canine Unit were called to assist and search the area, but the suspects were not located. It is believed the individuals fled the scene in a nearby vehicle. During the search, police recovered some of the stolen items.
At this time, investigators believe three individuals were involved in the theft. Descriptions of the suspects include one wearing a red jacket with a large front pouch, a blue hoodie underneath, black pants, and white shoes; another wearing a blue jacket, blue jeans, and black shoes; and the third wearing a white jacket with a large black strip around the waist and black sleeves, along with a black balaclava.
The UOV OPP Crime Unit is continuing its investigation with the assistance of the Forensic Identification Services (FIS) unit and the Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU). Police are asking anyone in the Pembroke Street East and Howard Street area who may have dash cam or security camera footage from between 12:00 a.m. and 2:00 a.m. on November 13, to come forward.
