It’s Cyber Monday, and while this weekend might have had people out and about shopping – today many are doing a lot of shopping from the comfort of their own home.
Constable Andrew Gamble says that means over the next couple of weeks, packages will be sent out, and the risk of theft from your front porch increases.
Gamble is asking people who are shopping online to plan ahead.
Another tip from the OPP is to be mindful of what link you are clicking.
Often times people are looking for sales on specific items, which may lead them off the beaten path of trusted websites to ones they have never seen before but are offering “amazing deals.”
Gamble says police wants everyone to enjoy the holiday season, and not start if off with a valuable package going missing.
