A blast of winter weather to welcome in December.
Sgt. Ed Sanchuk with the OPP is reminding drivers that, if significant snow is in the forecast, be prepared the for worst case scenario.
Canadians are no stranger to winter weather, but Sanchuk says they see people all the time who go out not thinking about some of the basics.
He added we live in a hyper connected world, so most people shouldn’t be “blindsided” by a blast of snow.
If you plan on travelling, use resources at your finger tips to make sure it’s safe to do so and weigh whether or not getting in the car is worth the risk.
Drive according to the road conditions, if it is bad out there drive as slow as you need to in order to get to your destination.
Make sure you leave space between you and the vehicle ahead so you can have proper time to stop.
If you have to get to an appointment or work on time, make sure you leave early so you aren’t rushing to get there.
