It’s the holidays, and you know food temptations will be all around you. Dietitian Emily Szatrowski says it’s important to remember, as the weeks go on, that it’s OK to enjoy this time of year.
She often sees people pushing back against the stream of food heading their way. While some people are able to do this, others struggle, which can actually make things worse in the end.
Szatrowski works with many people trying to find ways to avoid “yo-yo” dieting. While it’s important to enjoy the holiday season, you probably shouldn’t treat the entire month as a “cheat month” from healthy eating. That mindset of “I’ll get back on track in January” is tempting but ultimately unhelpful.
