The Renfrew OPP are confirming reports from our listeners about another serious crash along a major local highway, this time near Storyland Road.
Police say Highway 17 was closed to traffic from Chenaux Road to Renfrew’s Bruce Street as of around 6:00 a.m. on Friday, December 13th, after a car and tractor trailer collided.
Eyewitnesses on the scene suggest the trailer’s payload swung into the road as it left the highway and landed on the nearby shoulder.
One person has been sent to hospital, and an investigation is underway.

Reports from listeners are suggesting that a second serious accident has closed part of a local highway in as many days.
According to the reports, police have blocked off a section of Highway 17 near Storyland Road after a transport truck left the road and jackknifed as it entered the ditch at around 6:00 a.m. on Friday morning.
The OPP has yet to provide an official statement on the accident, but both lanes of the road are expected to be closed until further notice.
