Police say the victim of last night’s single-vehicle crash on Highway 17 just west of Arnprior was a 31-year-old man from Ottawa.
The Renfrew Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and the OPP Technical Collision Investigation team are continuing to investigate the collision.
“On Thursday, Dec. 12, at approximately 4:30 p.m., Renfrew OPP attended a single vehicle collision on Highway 417 eastbound, near Campbell Drive,” reads an OPP press release. “The driver of the vehicle, a 31-year-old male from Ottawa, was pronounced deceased at the scene.”
The highway was closed for several hours to allow for the Technical Collision Investigator (OPP), Reconstructionist (OPP) and the Chief Coroner of Ontario to conduct the investigation. The highway reopened after 9 p.m. Dec. 12.
