Tye Felhaber, a proud native of Pembroke, made his NHL debut with the Colorado Avalanche on Monday against Vancouver. Felhaber is the 755th former ECHL player to reach the NHL and the third to make their debut during the 2024-25 season.
Before joining the Avalanche, Felhaber had a standout career in the ECHL, earning 83 points (26 goals, 57 assists) in 71 games with the Idaho Steelheads, Orlando Solar Bears, and Fort Wayne Komets. He also gained recognition at the 2023 Warrior/ECHL All-Star Classic, winning the Accuracy Shooting contest with an impressive time of 6.5 seconds.
In addition to his ECHL success, Felhaber has played 187 AHL games, recording 67 points (33 goals, 34 assists) with teams including Colorado, Milwaukee, Texas, Syracuse, and Laval.
Felhaber grew up and played minor hockey in Pembroke before breaking into junior with the Pembroke Lumber Kings.
His journey from Pembroke to the NHL is a true testament to his hard work and determination.
