On Saturday, December 14, the Upper Ottawa Valley (UOV) Detachment Auxiliary Unit held their 16th annual “Stuff a Cruiser” event to collect food, toys, and funds for those in need. Auxiliary officers stationed police cruisers at local businesses, including Walmart, Metro, Giant Tiger, No Frills, and Hyska’s Your Independent Grocer.
Thanks to the generosity of the community, the event raised over $5,900 in cash for local food banks, along with thousands of dollars in food and toy donations. All donations were distributed to the Kiwanis Club Toy Drive, St. Joseph’s Food Bank in Pembroke, and the Petawawa Pantry food bank.
The OPP Auxiliary Unit expressed their gratitude to the businesses that allowed them to collect donations and to Enterprise Rent-A-Car for providing a cube van to transport the donations. The success of the event was made possible through community support. The OPP Auxiliary Unit thanks everyone for helping them “Stuff a Cruiser” and bring joy to those in need this holiday season.
