Media Relations and Community Safety Officer, Constable Craig Soldan advises people to reduce opportunities for theft by keeping items like purses, wallets, and shopping bags out of sight.
At home, porch thefts are a growing concern as delivery services drop off packages. Constable Soldan recommends leaving clear delivery instructions, having a neighbor collect packages, or investing in a video surveillance system.
Simple measures like outdoor lighting can also make a big difference. Soldan urged residents to check for dark areas around their homes and ensure all entry points, such as windows and patio doors, are secure.
He adds with a little preparation and caution, everyone can enjoy a safer holiday season.
