Shannon Clouthier is the big winner in the Growing TogethER Lottery, with his name drawn in the Grand Prize draw on Wednesday, January 8. This lucky win follows his earlier success in the Early Bird Draw, where he claimed $1,000 in cash. Shannon reinvested his winnings by purchasing more tickets, and his gamble paid off when his ticket (#546) won the grand prize.
Shannon faced a tough decision: take home a 2024 Toyota Rav Hybrid XSE, valued at over $56,000, or $44,000 in cash. After careful consideration over the weekend, Shannon chose the car! His decision was met with cheers and congratulations from the community.
This incredible prize was made possible thanks to the generosity of the Growing TogethER Lottery’s sponsors, Ben Hokum and Son, and Petawawa Toyota. Special thanks also go to Mad Outdoors and North American Sawmills Machinery for contributing the fantastic Early Bird prizes.
The lottery was a huge success, with 1,492 out of 1,500 tickets sold. This resulted in a net profit of $139,830, all of which will go toward the Growing TogethER Emergency Department Redevelopment Campaign. The funds will help renovate and expand the emergency department and ambulatory care clinic at St. Francis Memorial Hospital, a critical project for improving privacy, infection control, and health and safety.
The St. Francis Valley Healthcare Foundation team gave a big thank you to the vendors who sold tickets, including Lorraine’s Pharmasave, Barry’s Bay Shell, Eganville Foodland, and many others. Volunteers and supporters, especially Dr. Joe Cybulski, who played a key role in making the lottery a success.
The Growing TogethER Lottery has brought the community closer to its goal of improving healthcare facilities for all.
