The wildfires in Los Angeles are clearly devastating to local property owners but the effects of the blazes stretch from California to right here in our own backyard. Well known Pembroke musician Sierra Levesque was scheduled to head back to LA when news of the fires broke out.
The size of the fires that continue to rage in California are difficult to imagine, but Sierra did some calculations and puts it all perspective for we locals many miles away from the danger.
Sierra’s journey to California is in serious question for now as she and all of us continue to keep an eye on the progress of fighting these many deadly blazes. More than 12,000 homes, businesses, schools and other structures have been destroyed by the fires that have been burning for over a week now.
