A Pembroke resident is facing multiple criminal charges following an incident in the city on January 10.
At around 3:00 a.m., officers from the Upper Ottawa Valley (UOV) Detachment responded to a disturbance between two neighbors on Pembroke Street West in Pembroke. Police investigation revealed that the victim had been threatened, and a blunt weapon was used to cause damage to the victim’s residence.
One individual was arrested at the scene and taken into custody.
As a result of the incident, a 26-year-old from Pembroke has been charged with the following Criminal Code offences:
- Uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm
- Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
- Mischief under $5000
The accused was held for a bail hearing and remains in custody until their next court appearance at the Ontario Court of Justice in Pembroke. To protect the identity of the victim, the name of the accused is not being released.
The investigation is ongoing, and the OPP is continuing to gather more information.
