The Upper Ottawa Valley (UOV) Detachment is investigating a home invasion that left one person seriously injured.
The incident occurred on January 21, at approximately 8:00 a.m. on Pembroke Street West in Pembroke. Police say that three men broke into a home and assaulted the victim with blunt objects. The victim was quickly taken to a local hospital and later transferred to a trauma center in Ottawa. While the injuries are serious, they are not life-threatening.
The OPP believes this was a targeted attack and has assured the public that there is no threat to the general community. Authorities are now asking for help in identifying the three suspects involved. The first suspect was seen wearing light blue pants, a plaid hooded jacket, and carrying a black and yellow tool bag. The second suspect was wearing a black hoodie and a tan vest, while the third person was dressed in black pants and a black hoodie and was carrying a black and grey Champion-brand backpack. All three suspects wore ski masks during the incident.
The OPP is continuing its investigation with the support of the Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) and the Renfrew County Crime Unit. They are urging anyone with information about the home invasion to come forward.
