The little village of Douglas’ annual winter carnival is marking a big milestone this year – it’s been running for 50 years.
And to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Douglas Frosty Fun, the recreation association is kicking off the event with several activities the weekend before.
The carnival runs Feb. 7-9 at and around the outdoor rink.
But, the celebrations will begin with a six-hand euchre tournament planned for Friday, Jan. 31 at Cull’s Red Shop.
And then on Saturday, Feb. 1 there will be a ‘Wing Night’ event at the rec complex featuring food from 5-8 p.m. and live music at 8 p.m.
Proceeds from the events will go towards the Douglas Recreation Rink Rehabilitation Project.
