Conditions across the Ottawa Valley this morning are looking like the calm before the proverbial storm.
Environment Canada has put a special weather statement out for today, warning of strong southwesterly winds gusting up to 70 or 80 kilometres per hour through most of Renfrew County starting before noon on Monday, January 27th.
Commuters can also expect their afternoon travel to be affected by a few flurries and local snow getting tossed around later today into the overnight hours.
High winds can toss loose objects left outside or cause tree branches to break, which could lead to power outages in some communities.
