Police across the Ottawa Valley has teamed up with Domino’s Pizza to recognize and reward positive youth behavior in the community. Through this new initiative, UOV OPP officers will distribute “Good Samaritan” tickets to local youth who display positive actions, such as helping others, being leaders, or participating in community activities.
The Good Samaritan ticket can be redeemed for a free small one-topping pizza at participating Domino’s locations in Pembroke, Petawawa, Renfrew, and Arnprior.
Youth can earn these tickets for a variety of reasons, including following safety rules, performing good deeds, or helping others in need. Officers may also use the tickets as a way to engage with youth in a friendly, non-authoritative manner.
OPP Inspector Steph Neufeld, UOV OPP Detachment Commander, explained, “In addition to recognizing good behaviour by youth, Good Samaritan ticketing offers opportunities for our officers to interact with youth with a less authoritative approach. These interactions can serve to build positive relationships with the youth in the communities we serve.”
This initiative not only encourages good behavior among youth but also helps foster positive relationships between officers and the younger generation in the community.
