Petawawa is set to host the 2026 AORS Provincial Trade Show, a major event for public works professionals. The trade show will take place in early June 2026 and is expected to attract over 2,000 participants. This annual event is the largest of its kind in Ontario, showcasing between 200 and 300 exhibits related to public works products and services.
The Association of Ontario Road Supervisors (AORS), along with the Renfrew County Road Supervisors Association (RCRSA), organizes the trade show. The event provides a platform for professionals in public works to share information on the latest developments in materials, services, and equipment used to build and maintain municipal roads and infrastructure. Exhibits will cover areas such as road and bridge construction, traffic control, stormwater management, waste and water treatment, and more.
This is not the first time Petawawa has hosted a major AORS event. The town, which is part of the RCRSA, previously hosted the trade show in 1992 and 2014. Now, Petawawa has been selected to lead the 2026 event, with local resources from the Town’s Public Works, Economic Development, and Recreation departments working together to make it a success.
The trade show will provide a significant economic boost to Petawawa and surrounding areas, including Pembroke and Laurentian Valley. Local hotels, motels, restaurants, and other businesses are expected to see a rise in customers during the event. In addition to the exhibits, the trade show will feature local food trucks, a golf tournament, and a kick-off dinner to celebrate the event.
In 2014, the AORS Provincial Trade Show held in Arnprior raised $55,833.41 in revenue. A large portion of this revenue (85%) was donated back to the local community, funding initiatives like high school bursaries, hospitals, and student nutrition programs. The remaining 15% was used for RCRSA member training.
The RCRSA plans to continue this charitable tradition with proceeds from the 2026 trade show, supporting local causes and public works initiatives. The event will bring together professionals from both the public and private sectors, creating opportunities for collaboration and development in Ontario’s public works industry.
The Town of Petawawa is excited to showcase its community and infrastructure, ensuring the 2026 AORS Provincial Trade Show is a major success.
