The Upper Ottawa Valley (UOV) Detachment conducted weekend patrols on local snowmobile trails on March 8 and 9. The OPP was joined by the OPP East Region Snow Vehicle, All Terrain Vehicle, Vessel Enforcement/Education (SAVE) team to ensure snowmobilers were enjoying the trails safely.
Throughout the patrols, OPP officers interacted with more than 60 snowmobiles and operators. As a result, 20 charges were laid under the Motorized Snowmobile Act (MSVA), along with five additional charges under various provincial statutes.
The OPP reminds snowmobilers to stick to open Ontario Federation of Snowmobile Clubs (OFSC) trails. These trails are properly maintained throughout the season and offer the safest conditions for riding. The OPP continues to prioritize safety on local snowmobile trails and encourages everyone to ride responsibly.
