
Joan (nee Parent) Antaya, our beloved Queen of Diamonds was called away by the song of a cardinal on Sunday, March 16, 2025 to join in heaven her husband Ray and son Walter. She will be sorely missed by daughters Patricia Antaya, Chatham, Christine Robotham (Jim), Manotick, Charlene Whitlock (Wes), Lower Sackville, NS., Sandi McDonald (Jake), Petawawa and Terri Boland (Glen), Ottawa. Dearest Grandma of Anna, T.J., and Mary Robotham, Andrew Whitlock (Natalie) and Rae Antaya (Sarah), Brodie McDonald (Tamera), Brynda McCulloch (Randal) and Brittan McDonald, and Liam Boland, and precious Gigi of Ellie, Sam, Keira, Aaron, Reid, Ben and Cohen. Loving sister of Charlene Wilson. Predeceased by her brothers Neil and Nick Parent. Joan will be sadly missed by all her nieces and nephews, and a great multitude of children she has cared for over the years.
Thanks to the caregivers from Access Healthcare and Bayshore Healthcare, and to the nursing staff at the DRDH who always made mom feel like a VIP. Special thanks to Sandi and Brynda for the loving care and devotion Joan received at home in her final days. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday March 22 at 10:30 in Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church, Petawawa followed by Cremation. Interment of Joan’s Cremated Remains in St. Columba’s Cemetery.
